You will need to replace the factory cigarette lighter socket to power it
I think this will work fine on the factory tailgate but with the change to the factory wiring I had to rethink my approach. I have a large AEV tire holder and a 10 gallon gas tank so the offset is larger when the hitch is exposed from the tailgate. These highlights take this article in my favor.
