My community bought 4 of these devices to use multicast and it can and does it well (those who say it doesn't support multicast. The dongle requires software called ProCast which found in the download section of the EZCast website before making the necessary settings). The attached video shows 3 of our fully configured dongles and their multicast capability. Don't count on being able to multicast 4K images as they require a lot of bandwidth that 5GHz just doesn't support. You can easily stream 1 4K image. We can multicast to 4 of these devices, each at 1080p with or without minimal video and audio latency. The monitors we use are 4K TVs, but these devices are capable of taking a 1080p image and zooming it into a 4K screen. The moral of the story is that once you get these devices, your only limitation is your WiFi environment. , even if you don't have a 5GHz router, these devices can support 2.4GHz, you just need to enable this support in the settings.
