These buttons are of poor quality and difficult to press. I used them to create arcade games in a museum setting. The design is basically a machine screw that holds the red plunger and the head of the screw touches the two pins to close the switch. As a result, you'll have to wiggle the button a bit to get the screw head to touch the two contact points at the same time to complete the circuit. Also, since the piston is held primarily by the machine screw, it's possible to unscrew the piston, which basically forces the piston and spring out, and oftentimes they're never found again. Because the plunger is plastic, the plastic will wear out over time, causing the plunger and spring to eject again. The problem in the museum is that toddlers tend to get up and unscrew the plungers and again we have the mentioned ejection of a small part which can also be a choking hazard for a small toddler. We had better luck using real bell buttons.
