Just finished assembling and although my wife thought it would be a lot of work for me it was fairly easy. The pins are a bit tight (which is good), so you'll need a good hammer. I used a 14 inch wheelbarrow handle that I cut off and used where I need to knock wood without damaging it. I also have a good workbench to rest the assembly on to ensure it is flat and level throughout. I've found that the easiest way is to first assemble all the horizontal tiers together and then just stack them vertically one tier on top of the other. You can make sure they're good and even test them by turning them on all sides and tapping them lightly to make sure everything is tight. I love it. We made this into two equal frames using 24 hexagons in three rows. Now we have 42 bottles of wine on two shelves. Yes, it needs to be oiled or stained, but we didn't do it. Natural oak is great for us. I'm seriously considering buying another set.
