I didn't want to spend more than $50 for an xBox certified network adapter, so I chose this TP-Link Hotspot in "Client" mode. It worked like a champ and took about 15 minutes to install. As some others have pointed out, the access point needs to run its own DHCP server because (not to my understanding) it doesn't "forward" DHCP requests. to the main router. This means you need to set up a DHCP scope that is out of range of your home router to avoid conflicts. My home router assigns IP addresses in the xxx100-200 range, so I configured this gadget to serve the xxx50-60 range. Why not 5 stars? The included instruction manual is a bit flimsy and may cause some trouble for a newbie if he/she doesn't know what he/she is doing. Good buy.
