Well I have the whole two dog training system and it works great for me. The range is good for me as I am disabled and cannot chase or pull my dogs on leashes. The shock levels are human, but effective. Level 4 seems enough to make them shake their heads without helping them. Get the message, mind you, I only use the shock when I absolutely need it, but the vibration and beep work great when examining the collar. I have trained 3 dogs with this device: Pitt/Mix, Yellow Lab/German Shepherd and Husky. On a husky I have to shave the collar line around her neck to get the collar in contact with the skin but she feels great without getting electrocuted so I don't use it on her. If your dog has a very thick coat, I suggest doing the same. Dogs understand cause and effect very well and a shock should be used to illustrate what will happen if they don't listen and after that initial shock or so a beep and vibration should be all that is needed but be it careful as my lab wins. don't even go. in the bathroom with him sometimes and I only shocked her once a year! It leaves no marks or rashes and it's great that they offer replacement parts that WORK and are just like the original. The company's biggest recommendation is to change the way the backup battery works. As it stands I get a day and a half of battery at max.
