I wanted one of the adapters for my Kenwood portable radio. The electrical connection seems to be good. In any case, it works noticeably better than the cheap connector I had in my parts collection. I like that this plug has a wide base. This is meant to take some of the strain off the radio's SMA connector, but it doesn't screw in tight enough to touch the radio's case. So before installing the adapter I put a rubber washer (1/4" ID, 1/2" OD, 1/16" thick) on the SMA connector of the radio. This creates a very reliable connection that the withstand the stress of the RG-8X coaxial cable.
