Heavy duty vinyl. in my review
Have used other mats before but they were either rubber-like materials (with and without carpet) or cement-like hard mats. Neither were great. Rubber discolored and even grew mold. Cement ones were rigid and cracked with flexing of deck or if patio not perfectly flat. These are heavy duty vinyl with fabric backing. A little stiff initially but softens in sun. Only drawback was the limited color choice of either black or silver diamond plate design.
- Lays flat. So far we like it!
- The mat might smell if left outside in the sun for too long
