Out of the box this product started up in less than a minute, set the temperature to 39F and powered up a full size 1995 fridge. At the moment I'm testing this in a DC full hybrid solar array connected on the DC battery side of a dedicated 12V DC box consisting of a six year old 70Ah lead-acid car battery that is nearing the end of its life, and a new 16Ah LiFePO box, which is just above the voltage of an old car battery. A 100-watt solar panel can power this fridge during New York City winters when it's only partly cloudy. I estimate it uses about 200 watt hours per day in ECO mode at 39F with an ambient temperature of about 65F. The compressor makes a sound similar to that of an aquarium bubbler, which is actually quite pleasant. It works great from 15 to 10 volts and has various battery protection settings. It's great for camping, emergencies, strict clinics or post offices, or even as a replacement for a full-size refrigerator in a small, energy-conscious household. I highly recommend it.
