I wanted this bag to love me but it just doesn't fit. It has a belt strap and a loop to hang around the neck which was fine after I wrapped it in a headscarf for padding but after about 4 days of regular use my neck started to hurt from the weight. I might try and see if I can sew straps onto it from another bag because the bag itself is amazing. It has a phone holder, a large pocket and a zip pocket. The zippers are of average quality but seem strong, with hoops on the ends for a comfortable grip. There is no problem opening it while cycling without looking at it or trying to grab it. After 3 days, the zip begins to wear down the reflective strip that runs along it. For a day trip it would be ok if you softened the neck strap somehow. But the daily work with a heavy backpack just stressed me out. If you have a sore throat, this might not even be a problem.
