This would be a great camera if it didn't freeze and heat up like an overloaded cell phone. I needed a GPS enabled camera for work and have always wanted a Nikon after hearing their products are better. I have to pull up, take a picture and get out quickly. It takes some time for the camera to turn on. It's a bit heavy in the hand, I wouldn't mind that, but the clasp then requires quite a bit of pressure. Photo verification is too long, at least 2 seconds or even longer. Between photos, I'm forced to double-tap the shutter button to return to photo mode. And from there I have to double click the zoom button to start zooming. Slowly, slowly, slowly. Worst: From the first day I owned it, I had to insert the battery, insert the SD card, repeat, then wait, reinsert the card, reinsert the battery, and then kept shooting because of a freeze. As many of my situations can become contradictory, this is not acceptable. It gets so hot that I held the device in front of the air conditioning vents in the car to cool it down. The last straw today was that the clasp *almost* opened. That is, most of it opened up, except for a part that stayed in the center of the lens, which I had to gently push with my fingernail. This happened more than once. I think Nikon tried to make this camera do everything for everyone. Good mood, only it doesn't work properly. Wait for them to fix the bugs before you buy this one. ***Edit: I replaced a Class 4 SD card with a Class 10 card and didn't experience any freezes. I can save that then. Still worried about the shutter malfunction but the day was very hot and muggy. Also wondering what card class has to do with proper functioning?
