My husband and I have had our own Marmot Precip jackets for 10 years and they are still water repellent and have large hoods to keep water out of our faces. The water will fizz and roll off instantly if you're out in the rain or a light drizzle for just a few minutes. (Of course, if you're out in the rain for a long time, water will seep in.) Also, this jacket is very light, so I love raincoats, so I can wear them underneath if necessary, but I don't on humid and warm days it won't too hot. I'm so glad my son has one now too!
