They do not clean well with just water. They keep stains.
I used these on my wooden table and they are nice and no hot food has burned through or damaged the table but cleaning is an actual chore. If you spill food on it the food stains and the stains will stay no matter how much you wipe or scrub at it. THis annoys me because my money for house wares is limited so I feel this is a waste
