Review on Ultimate Comfort and Support in the La-Z-Boy Trafford Big and Tall Executive Office Chair with AIR Technology by David Bar

Revainrating 3 out of 5

the seat is a bit short.

I received this chair and assembled it today. The right hand was damaged in production where the hole appears to have been started in the wrong place, stopped and drilled in the right place. the overall comfort of the chair. decent but far from what I expected the last time I had a Fairmont chair. It's been about 7 years since I bought my Fairmont so I'm not sure if it's worn really well, but the Fairmont seat, which should only be 1/2" longer, is about 2 1/ 2" longer and also quite wider between the arms. As I mentioned earlier it may be because it was worn for 7 years. To be honest I was expecting the chair to be a lot softer since this chair has a "comfort base plus with memory foam" but overall it feels pretty solid. There is some concern about the piece of plastic on the bottom of the chair. The instructions say you should place the metal base on top of the plastic, but this chair is rated at 400 pounds (350 according to the instructions), so using a piece of plastic as the main support seems odd. when i assembled the chair everything went fine except i heard a few. which sounded like wood cracking and snapping as I put my back down. It looked like the bottom of the seat was actually broken due to screwing in screws that weren't even tightened yet. Overall I want to love this chair. Maybe I'm just spoiled with a chair that has broken down over the years, but the seat on it is pretty flat. maybe this one will break a little in a few days but I'm still a bit confused about the seat being so hard.

Pros
  • Household and kitchen
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
