I bought a Brother HL-L3270CDW color laser printer; after limited use, the printer increasingly began to print with washed-out black backgrounds. On reading the problem, I found various recommendations for the solution, including cleaning the inside of the printer well, wiping out the toner cartridge (alcohol), and slowly using the slide lever several times - repeated attempts to solve the problem didn't work. I almost gave up on the printer when I came across an article that mentioned another possibility: the toner cartridge that came with the printer could simply be defective. I bought a replacement toner cartridge from Toner Kingdom and just replaced the black toner. The problem immediately disappeared. Can't comment on the other colors in the set, although with the black toner I now have nice and sharp prints, no unwanted backgrounds and no ink bleeding.
