I ordered the same cable two years ago so I could attend web conferences on my computer with a headset and was not tethered to my laptop with my Apple headphones that is about 3 meters long. It worked great. I recently ordered a different cable and there is no sound from my headphones when connected to my laptop or iPad. The cable has been replaced and the second cable has the same problem. I found a post online that the rings on the connector end of the cable do not match the connector on the computer and if you adjust the cable to match the rings there is sound. That was true, but when I use it this way I can't move or move my head because the connector doesn't lock in the computer, and if I move too much I lose sound.
