I've worn several of these shirts all summer to work in the garden and on the go and managed to avoid sunburn without sunscreen the whole time. I have very light skin and in the past I could sunbathe in a hoodie for 30 minutes on a cloudy day, but they were able to protect my back from the sun for hours at peak sun exposure. I was very skeptical at first, but they really work. The only complaints I have is that the hood could be a bit longer to cover more of the face and the thumb holes in the sleeves are for those with short arms. than mine, but in general I want to buy a few more.
