Okay I'm back today to buy more. Oh no, I won't. Last year when I bought it I got a 45ft white roll for less than $12. I know what a great offer. Today 32.00 What has more than doubled the price? i love this stuff A wrap. But almost all Velcro products, even glue, were there. I really just used the same white velcro, slightly wider than the glue, and attached a hook to the back of two 50w solar panels. Semi-flexible solar modules, very thin and light. I made a bookshelf that closes like an album with two frames glued together. This was great except the panels weren't cut perfectly flat and at least one edge was much narrower than the other 7. And the other edge was very curved or tapered from very narrow to wider, making it difficult to fit the frame perfectly. without any part of the frame covering the edge of the panels themselves. Not knowing if this could damage the plates, I didn't know what to do. Yes, they worked and used them for several years. But the monkey sees what the monkey does, comes to mind. I saw a video of a man mounting similar but larger solar panels on the roof of his converted van in high winds. He stuck self-adhesive Velcro to the top of the van's roof and to the back of the panels. OMGOSH, this will work for me. So I use this one wrap and sew loop side up to the fabric on the back of the frame, then cut equal lengths of white tape for the hooks. Heavy Duty brand Velcro. and after leaving the pad, I first placed the hook directly over the loop and pressed firmly in place to keep a good grip. Then I peeled off all the streaks on the glue, but haven't removed them yet. After positioning the panel where it should be, I carefully reached underneath, peeled off all the strips and dropped the panel face up onto the adhesive. And then pressed tight again, flipped from behind. I have the soft packing foam that comes with the panels so I use that to protect their fronts. In the end it worked out great. I have no intention of removing them from the backing, but if it was ever necessary I would. And I've checked upwind, and they're going nowhere. In the meantime I'll wait a while to see if it falls off again. It was last year. But the past year has never had such a high period. Some of the things I do I like white, some I prefer black, so it's both. For a sticky project above, black would have sufficed, but my only sticky Velcro in a heavy-duty 15ft roll was white, so I stuck with it. My project also used over 9 feet so is less than 6 left. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Velcro can never be enough. Buy as I have the velcro without velcro but I find velcro is better and thinner in general. I can sew through without gluing the needle. Other brands I've bought in numerous colors: red, yellow, blue, green, all in the same type of packaging, there's glue between the hook and loop that connects them together and it sticks the sewing machine needles, something awful . I couldn't use it in any of my planned projects where I had to sew it in place. Happy Velcro. It can never be too much.
