I was impressed with the durability of these jewelry hooks. I used those ubiquitous green thin hooks that are quite long. They bend so easily I feared my precious jewelry would fall off the tree and break. Being used to longer, thin hooks, they looked quite small. But how much space under a branch do you really need? That's the full length of the thin hooks - a gap under the branch. I don't need this slot. What I need are jewelry hooks that won't bend and that fit the bill. Gold is unobtrusive with jewelry featuring gold or warm details. Otherwise, the green color will merge with the tree. I have both gold and green and will copy and paste this review for both. Don't skimp on your hook. Those beautiful decorations that you treasured, that your kids made, that you got on vacation twenty years ago, they're all going to shatter on the floor if you don't have strong hooks. Her short shank also means you see the decoration rather than the hook. This is a design bonus. Plus, they come in their own storage box, so you don't have to try to put the hooks in ziplock bags. Buy them.
