This is definitely a lifesaver (or arm and hand saver) if you do a lot of frying over the stove. I've made a lot of frozen potstickers in my lifetime and I've always hated the splatter from the oil. The splatter screen does indeed protect my hands from being excessively burned but I'd say it only reduces the splatters by 90% or so. Some of the splatter can get through the screen but this is way better than having no protection. One thing to take note of is that leaving the splatter screen on top of the skillet does create a lid-effect and can start to steam the food that you're frying. So I've started moving the screen off the skillet as soon as the oil stops popping.
