We have tried other litter box liners but only genuine litter box bags really work. It's not that they're very expensive - you can get three for $18. The problem is that we have cats in China who like to dig holes in their litter, so not every bag lasts long. Also, there are no laces around the upper so when scratching they pull it away from the sides where it's just folded. Plus, cat pee on plastic just smells awful! Even if you take out the trash every day, the dirty filler is because of that plastic, which is starting to destroy it. Although the bags are biodegradable, which I like, it's not very practical for our household. I could say the same about the whole system though, which I probably won't buy again. I also attached pictures how to fold the pockets, because it is very important to fold it into four parts like a card, otherwise it won't work. They won't fit back in the box when you put them away.
