After receiving this, I tested it with a 500g calibration weight, calibrated it with a 100g calibration weight, after that it seemed accurate to eat. However, I then noticed a very serious additional problem with accuracy. If you *slowly* put a small amount of weight on the scale, it ignores the weight. As a test, I very slowly put a 0.8 g piece of paper on the scale and measured zero. After quickly removing the paper from the scales, the weight was -0.8 g. I suspect this is due to some sort of software interpolation intended to artificially increase the scale's accuracy or response time. This is an unacceptable design flaw so I will be returning the product.
