Review on πŸ”Œ Foldable Electric Travel Tea Kettle: Compact, Food Grade Silicone with Boil Dry Protection - Blue by Chris Young

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Such a cool pot!

I bought this pretty potty to take with me on my husband's upcoming business trip. The food at the resort we are staying at is so outrageously expensive that I looked for cheap meal ideas that we could cook in our hotel room. After watching many hotel room cooking hack videos, I can honestly say I will never use a hotel coffee pot again. (but that's another topic) Which led me to find a video about this little gem. The price was great and I liked the idea of having it on hand in case of a power outage. We have a generator that can be easily plugged in to share oatmeal, instant noodles, coffee, etc. with anyone interested. The pot is approximately 4.5 inches when folded and 7 inches when fully expanded. Holds 3.5 cups of water. I filled it to the brim with 3.5 cups of water, plugged it in and set a 5 minute timer to see how long it would take to heat up. After 5 minutes it was hot enough to make instant oatmeal, tea or hot chocolate. I left it on and after about a minute or so I heard it actually start to boil. Sometime in the 6th-7th Minutes ago my water started to boil. It wasn't a full boil like you would cook something in a saucepan, but you could see little bubbles forming and the silicone was hot to the touch. The pot was hot enough to do whatever you need to do e.g. B. Make a bowl of instant noodles, coffee, etc. After about 10 minutes the pot would turn itself off, which I thought was a nice feature. I left the pot plugged in because I was planning on using some water later and heard it turn back on after about 10 minutes, so you definitely need to make sure you turn the pot off and unplug it when it does is not used. . Otherwise it seems that it can start by itself. The set also included a cute little silicone mug with a lid. The cup breaks up and holds 4 ounces of liquid. However, it is very thin and I would not recommend using it for a hot drink. I would use it as a mouthwash when brushing my teeth or for a quick sip of water, but no more. So far I'm happy with my purchase. I plan to use it for oatmeal, coffee, and ramen noodles for a quick meal when traveling. I have found that the easiest way to clean it is to use a baby bottle brush and some hot soapy water. The only negative I have to report is that I had trouble connecting to the outlet. Maybe it's because it's so new and I had to move a bit to hook it up. At first I thought they sent me the wrong cable, but turns out he just needed a good pull. The second problem was that the pot would turn back on after it was turned off. I think it gives a false sense of security and could lead to an accident if you're not careful. Especially if you have young children and think the potty is out. That's why I'm deducting a star from my rating. Otherwise I really like this pot.
