Review on Dairy 50043 Craft Silicone Molds by Amy Mcleod

Great shape, makes amazing soap and lotion bars

I've made soap and lotion bars in this mold before and it works fantastic. About the mold: NO SMELL from the mold. It doesn't hold the scent of my scented oils with soap or lotion! It's firm enough to move on the fly, but flexible enough to release soap or lotion very easily - just pull a little on each side with your thumb before flipping the whole mold and the soap will pop right out. I usually put the form on a small plate before filling it out so I can easily move it around if needed. The details came out very sharp, even when I used different shades of the maple syrup soap mix I made! I am attaching photos of 4 bars that were sold the same day I made them! It would be very easy to "hand paint" them. if you used eyedroppers to fill in the details. Be sure to follow the instructions for applying soap in layers! Due to the nature of the design, you can make small 1 ounce sticks of both lotion and soap in this mold as long as you fill them enough to cover the parts you want to finish. Bar. I was very impressed as the edges come out very nicely, sharp but flowing around the shape of a cow - I haven't had any damaged or sharp edges on my rods. I hoped that would be the case and was delighted to get a full 360 degree view of the finished rods. You can also make a small shaft out of just the head, with or without a bell. Like THIS for versatility beyond form! First thing I highlighted was the price. It's a bit high [for me] for a mold with a cavity, mainly because it gets more tedious to pull out the "curing" process bar by bar. So if you want to make several of these bars and do it efficiently you will need more than one mold which can get very expensive overall. If you take into account the waiting time between the bars, this also somewhat reduces the economic value. By the way, in my house at around 70 degrees Fahrenheit it takes about 1 hour for a bar of soap and at the same temperature about 30 minutes for a lotion. My solution to the efficiency problem (because I need to get other store upgrades before buying new molds) is to add enough soap or lotion to each of my soap or lotion batches. to make a piece or two of it. I suppose it makes my soaps more exclusive anyway. =) If anything else comes up on this form, I'll try to change this review in that regard. I definitely advise trying this form, I'm pretty sure you'll be glad you have it. I just wish there was a way I could get a set of at least 4 for a lower price (remember they cost the $12 I paid for mine, I just need to cut business expenses in time - keep them not it against this product, nor seller). Happy lathering, I hope this review helped YOU make your purchasing decision! I will try to change this review in this regard.
