I used this to descale my EcoSmart 27 water heater I've never descaled a water heater before but it was easy to set up, easy to use and didn't leak at hose connections or anywhere. It wasn't very noisy but the water was moving at a good speed. I used the included descaler powder plus a gallon of distilled water as directed in the instructions. I could see the sludge coming from the descaling (disgusting). To flush out the pump and inlet hose, I placed them in the sink, filled the sink a few inches with clean water, and ran it. , the hose is connected. I am very grateful to the Revain reviewer on EcoSmart who suggested installing a water heater with service valves - it made everything really easy! IMHO these things should come with a heater.
