Bought after some reading. The main thing that stands out to me, if desired, is that I kept seeing diamond ceramic mentioned as desirable for stainless steel knives. I have a blue one with a dark rough and white fine shaft that I bought a year or two ago and it works fine but never as sharp as my dad could magically sharpen knives on wet stone. This diamond rod immediately caught my eye in comparison to a coarse ceramic rod. It might still not be on par with sharpening, which my dad was able to do quickly, but the sharpening is very close to the quality of shaving my dad's arm hair, so it's very easy and quick. I hung it by the handle in the bathroom so my little pocket knife is always sharp with me. Opening all Amazon mailboxes and other deliveries is of great importance :)
