So I'll start with what I like about them. First, they are not easy to spot once installed. Of course, if you look at them directly, you can tell that they are there. Certainly better than my unsightly pillow barricades around every corner of my couch. The glue has been good so far (but I've only had them a few days). Haven't seen my cats try them but they are too smart and only scratch when I'm not around. Obviously they won't like it if they try. So they definitely work. Even the sofa looks better where it's slightly torn. Now for the bad. These pens are terrible. The clear plastic pieces come off VERY easily, leaving a sharp pinhead sticking out. 2 just came loose when I tried to screw it in. One child accidentally hit another. The other child is a crawling baby who she found right away so it was a struggle. For now I'm going to take them all off and just hope the glue works for now. ALSO. If your sofa has a wooden frame like mine, it's IMPOSSIBLE to put pins. All the spots my cats like to scratch have a wooden bar underneath so obviously a needle won't fit. I can even just nail them with a stapler and finish. Small staples still look better than a tattered couch and do less damage.
