Too many Lightning cables won't work if they still look good. I've custom them with springs on the terminals to prevent the wire from bending over too tight a radius at any point and so far they're working great. The only downside I had was that I left one of the cables on the passenger side of my truck where it really did NOT get wet and the spring and the inside of the USB connector got a little rusty. I went ahead and gave up that cable. I still like the cables to be honest, I'm just more careful not to rust them.
