The scale was well packaged and included batteries ready for use (just pull out the plastic tab to secure). The top connector on the scale has rubber grommets that help protect the device from twisting/rotational forces under heavy loads. These are easy to install. The hanging bracket has a good solid connection with enough clearance to hang from a large device. The numbers are easy to read in a brightly lit room. The device remembers which unit you last used, so you don't have to constantly reset it to pounds or whatever you prefer. I used it to weigh about 20 items. Weights under 20# don't impress me. In fact, you can hang a few light objects and no load will be registered (stays at 0). I really wanted to use this for many applications, including many elements in the 1-5# range, but that's not possible. Weight over 20# proved accurate enough. within 0.4# on a scale I already have and trust. These scales have a high ceiling, so for some people who only want to weigh large items, these smaller weights might not even count. Low-end accuracy issues aside, I'm happy with these scales.
