I thought it was a regular material although it was VERY difficult to work with until I found real beeswax. This is not 100% beeswax. Real beeswax is listed as 100% beeswax, is a deep yellow color and has a lovely honey smell. Unfortunately, in the US you are allowed to sell beeswax as pure if it contains 51% beeswax. The companies then combine that percentage with a filling wax. It is now quite apparent that this is very close to 1/2% purity. It smells bad and is really hard to melt (again, real beeswax shouldn't be a problem). Save money and skip this product.
