I am a bit disappointed by the negative reviews when it is obvious that this product has not been used for its intended purpose. This product is NOT designed to be removed. This product is not intended for the appliqué technique where the wrong side of the fabric is cut under the appliqué. This product is designed to be left in an English paper band or appliqué with the back fabric intact. Most of it comes off in the first wash and becomes quite soft. There are so many ways to make an applique and we need to make sure we have the right tools for our unique method. I love this newspaper for many reasons. I figured it would be easier than using freezer paper for the prepared edge and use less glue. Save money on glue. This paper gives the appliqué a bit more stability and, as one reviewer said, makes the tedious trimming job a lot easier. I use this product for my granddaughter's quilt which has many appliqués.
