The clock does not tell the correct time

This Seiko table clock stopped telling the time within 3 months of purchase. Although the battery was replaced with a brand new one, it first slowed down by 5 minutes every 24 hours and now by 40 minutes in 24 hours. The moving parts are made in Thailand, the wooden body is made in China. I contacted Revain and Deiko USA. It's covered by a one-year warranty, but needs to be shipped to New Jersey for an estimate to be repaired. Postage there and back is paid out of pocket and is more than half the cost of this watch. I am terribly disappointed.
