Well this is a very desirable item not only for swimming but for water play in general. This jar is made of thick, soft plastic and it will not harm my child if they chew on it for any reason. Holds a decent amount of water. What I find a bit strange is that water is already starting to flow out of Dino's (but rhinoceros-like) mouth and the mouth is very low on the can. Therefore, as soon as you lift the container out of the water, it immediately starts splashing water. Although we got this for a baby my 4 year old is obsessed with it so you already know it will grow with baby providing you are clean/dry so it doesn't encourage mold to grow inside. In this case, cleaning is a bit difficult since the opening is on the side and is quite small. So make sure you dry them with good ventilation. I was asked if they could take this to the pool. or to a water play table so it definitely gets a second life if you decide not to use it while swimming or whatever. At $10, this is a good price and on par with all other bath water dispensers. It's so fun and cute that they want to take more baths so it's worth every penny.
