This antenna has a good SWR at 440, very good at 144 and even fairly well out of range at 462-467. I get very good signal reports on all three bands. The magnet is strong and sticks to the roofs of my STEEL cars and trucks. I usually ride 75mph in high winds and haven't had any slippage. When I put my truck under the carport it taps the joists but only the top 6 inches or so and the springs seem to work very well for that. I'm smart enough not to expect even that from such a cheap antenna, so I was pleasantly surprised. Precautions: 1. Before driving on the highway, check the magnetic adhesion of the bracket and the vehicle. Once attached, it should be difficult to move or remove. Don't put it on a car that isn't made of good, heavy steel. I will not bother your corvette.3. VERY make sure the mount is clean and there is no dirt or dust between the car and the magnet. It may scratch your finish.4. Try not to pinch the cable again. This will change the impedance and possibly even short out the cable.
