I'm a fan of non-branded printer cartridges because I despise the cheap printer-hook-it-on-consumables business model. But I regularly resort to brand names because the hardware detection of third-party cartridges leads to incorrect "replace toner" messages. I was hoping this one would be immune, but unfortunately after about two months and maybe 50-100 sheets (no spring-loaded printing) the Brother printer's antibodies recognized the foreign object and rebelled. So the only thing left for me to do is load another toner cartridge into the box, throw that almost full cartridge away and hope to print another 100 pages before next time I collapse and buy the same brand of toner. Arrrrgh.
