The mount that came with my TomTom recently died and had to be replaced. Since TomTom doesn't offer a replacement, I started sifting through the many fakes available. I was never entirely happy with the original mount as it was too sensitive to temperature changes so it fell off my windshield and unceremoniously threw my TomTom onto the floor of my car. This has happened countless times while driving (an obvious safety concern) and parking (a frustrating annoyance), but it has never annoyed me more than when I've parked overnight and the mount has wedged my TomTom between the steering column and high up lever , high beam switching at night and battery discharge. I didn't want to relive any part of that experience, and after reading reviews of fake ones, I realized I would have another similar experience. One of those reviews mentioned Arkon and after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. After almost a month of use, it hasn't broken down once and thanks to its many points of articulation it offers a few more mounting options than the original. It costs more than fakes, but because it actually works, it's worth the cost. One catch: The connection ring that connects to the back of the TomTom seems loose, but it seems secure, which isn't a problem.
