This shoe is for heavy people

Hiss. I was very disappointed after paying such a high price so I waited with a review. It turns out these shoes have seriously changed my running and are worth it. I'm 50 years old, 5'10", 225 pounds and use Omni 12, 13, 14 and 15. I recently ordered Omni 13's from leftover stock but my 15 was causing upper calf pain and bilateral muscle strains which caused wide fascia were tense. making it difficult to walk comfortably the next day. I run/walk up to 3 miles but the pain forced me to stop, cardiovascular system was not compromised. I found these shoes while browsing the Saucony website and read a few reviews. I decided to take a chance. After a few runs, my stopping distances increased until I was consistently hitting 3.0 miles at 5.2 mph with a 6.5 mph finisher. On my last run I did the first 0.5 mile, then ran 4.0 miles before SI pain forced me to stop. I haven't had any shin splints or TFL pain holding me back since switching to this shoe. The extra pillow is a real benefit. So the reviews mentioning improved heel-to-toe transition are correct. I noticed it and it makes my step easier, I'm a convert. Are the shoes heavy? Sure, but honestly, at my weight, it's not the shoes that are holding me back. If I had been a 160 pound marathoner all my life I would be looking for lightweight shoes. I read a review from a 290 lb man that said the same thing I mentioned and it spurred me on to try them out. I'll make my next shoes half a size smaller, they're a little wider than I'm used to.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small house
Cons
