These mugs are highly polished and wash well. The "assist handle" you see on your cast iron skillet isn't for lifting weights, but you can place it on top of a larger container without it falling in. It also helps you pour liquids without dripping. They are clearly visible in both cups and metric units (mL). The best, however, are the in-between sizes. There are 3/4 cup, 2/3 cup and 1/8 cup. There are also intermediate markings on the calyces, eg 1/3 c. There is a line marked "1/6". Equally beautiful are the supplied spoons, also in ml; and there are 1/2 tbsp and 1/8 tsp, which are very handy for half recipes.
