The EUA500 has a very strange layout, which probably explains its low price compared to competing USB-C docks. However, if you're looking for a USB-C-enabled all-in-one laptop dock, this is probably the most affordable functional choice. I use mine with a Dell XPS13 with Fedora as well as a 2K ACER HDMI monitor. , external USB speakers, a Logitech webcam, a DIY USB backup drive, a wired Logitech trackball, and an Aukey keyboard. I had to add a 4-lane USB 2.0 hub to keep everything working, but it worked fine. I couldn't verify if the 4K monitor output actually works. The weird thing about this dock is that it's actually a dock for one laptop plus a video adapter for a second laptop, and for some reason the first one is called "Host 2". You plug your laptop into the "Host 2" port (use either of the two USB cables that come with it, no big deal) and you get two HDMI ports, USB and more. Plug it into the "Host 1" port and you only get HDMI output, making the device a very inconvenient HDMI dongle. I have no idea, I don't know why you need the laptop. My old plugable didn't need that, but it blew through, so maybe that's why.
