You cannot use commercial applications with it. If you want to run a server then this is not the best option because of its price factor. If you are using it as a workstation or as a desktop system then it would be a great choice. Since its open source software, you can modify the core files to suit your requirements. It gives you all the benefits of BSD OS but at the same time it does not have any restriction. So if you have a limited budget then you should go for this OS.
