Review on MT VIKI HDMI Fiber Optic Cable by Virgilio Feliciano

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Multiple cables mismatched

I have 9 of them ordered mission critical applications in my video studio. I chose them because they are made of fibers and I knew they had to be more durable. When we received these, we installed our new video mixers with HDMI output on our recorders. We had no choice. After troubleshooting, we narrowed the search down to the cable. I have a few more of the 9 ordered and they worked. I tried the bad ones again in my home studio that I use for work and they didn't work at first. I wiggled the cord a bit and it worked. I wiggled and moved the corks and they never fell off? Are there ports inside that need better placement? I'm not sure. I've marked these 2 cables as questionable and use them in situations where I don't lose anything critical if they fail. Do I trust other cables that have worked. They seemed a little unreliable for a higher quality HDMI fiber optic cable.

Pros
  • HDMI 2.0 compliant (4K UHD video at 60 Hz, 2160p, 48 bpp color depth), supports 18 Gbps bandwidth, Ethernet, 3D and Audio Return Channel (ARC), backwards compatible with older versions
