Great product for the price. Protrudes approximately 2 inches from the bumper. A little thin. There are no instructions. I bought for my 2008 BMW E70 X5 3.0si. Bought before reading reviews as part is cheapest. Just before it arrived I read about the main problem with the product: The single mounting screw is the main point of failure, allowing it to spin freely, work loose, crack the plate frame, or break under excessive torque. I was able to fix most of them by cutting through a rubber garage door seal I had lying around, putting a blue Loctite washer on the bolt and tightening it with a ratchet. The result is excellent. The part is secure and not turning yet. As others have said the frame is a little flimsy but they added a light powder coat finish which should extend the life of the finish. You will need a 19mm socket to tighten the tow hook bolt, a 10mm socket to tighten the frame bolt, a 10mm socket to hold the self-locking nuts and a 4mm allen wrench to tighten the plate bolts.
