Basically I wanted these ink pads to age the edges of the cards and apply them to the scrapbook embellishments to give them some dimension. The ink pad is so hard that when you apply enough pressure to the edge of the card to squeeze the ink out, it folds the card rather than gently as is required for an antique card. I have a very hard stippling brush and it doesn't even pick up enough ink to blend. Definitely returned them. Of course, I wish Creative Memories still carried ink pads, or that I could find petal or cat-eye ink pads in the colors I need.
