Review on Mad Man Bold Men Beard Oil 30ml – Natural Cedarwood and Patchouli Essential Oils for Conditioning and Softening by Julie Blanford

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Smells great. Not organic. Three ingredients make me think. For more options call

I have the Mad Man formula and I love this scent. It reminds me of Calvin Klein's Eternity Now For Men or maybe DKNY Men. They don't list all the ingredients (just the flavor) which can be anything, but it's definitely less vanilla and a bit bolder and spicier than Eternity. Like Eternity, it also has hints of ivory soap (e.g. soft ginger root). This is a great blend of woody, spicy, and sweet notes. When you apply it, it replaces your cologne. It absorbs quickly and isn't oily, just a little more watery than expected, possibly because the alcohol is diluting it. Several things make me think. First 3 ingredients I'm not comfortable with: ethylhexylglycerin, alcohol (drying, shouldn't be in any skin/hair care product) and fragrance. The generalizing label "taste" is in the top ten. Avoid cosmetic ingredients as you never know what they contain. It can also be a migraine trigger for some people. Also, none of the ingredients are organic. The biggest problem is that they have no excuse for these shortcomings. Another brand, Monster and Son, proves you can make 100% natural organic ingredients AND smell amazing. I really recommend checking out Monster and Son before you buy. I give 3 stars because they weren't transparent about their ingredients. I had to wait for it to arrive to find out what's in it, and even now I'm not sure what's in it because "aromatic" has mysterious ingredients.
