I wouldn't try to stuff 96 pins in this

Unless you have very thin pins, putting 4 pins in will overflow the slots. As you can see from the pictures, some pins are not straight. If you put 3 pins in each slot, 72 pins will fit. This is fine for my purpose because I need something to hold 60 pencils a little better than the original packaging. When closed you have 4 layers of pens on top of each other with no barrier in between, so I wouldn't recommend this if you need something more protective to carry, like when travelling.
