CDI Triple Wrench Torque1501-TPA

I purchased this without any previous reviews and wanted to warn people of my issue with this tool. First, let me say that Snap on is a great company in my experience and all the tools I've used or bought from them are great. I expected this tool to be the same. The problem is that this tool does not have a torque indicator. The instructions tell you to use a torque tester or anti-wrench gauge and then set it for torque - basically you have to buy another really expensive tool to install the tool you just bought. i will send it back Additional Note: Before sending it back, I double checked and made a few more comments. The Star System is a little harsh here because it's not a bad tool, but it's meant for a narrow scope in my opinion. As said, it doesn't include a torque indicator on the tool, but you can tweak it through trial and error to match the torque of the bolt already installed if that helps. This is possible because this tool "slides" in both directions. In a production environment or when you need to tighten the same thing over and over again, this is a good tool. If you have a separate torque gauge that would be fine too. The instructions are also not as helpful as they could be. The tool "slips" and makes a slight noise when it reaches the set torque. It's clear enough if you know what to hear and feel. If you buy one of these I would recommend that you first loosen the smaller set screw on the end of the tool, take out the bit holder and rod and look inside. Once you see how they fit together and how they "slide" the tool will be easier to understand and use. Finally, the handle is more comfortable on the wrist than a screwdriver design, but it's too short if you plan on using this 100-plus-pound tool at all.

Pros
  • Designed for manufacturing applications that require higher torque ratings than a torque screwdriver can deliver
Cons
