Great concept, but opportunistic price and awkward transfer of audio files

My mother has Alzheimer's and is on site during COVID-19. We don't have access to it and it's heartbreaking. She loves listening to Nat King Cole and we know she'll relax if we can make sure she has access to that music and can identify and turn the player on and off herself. This music player has the characteristic of looking like an old fashioned radio, has very clear instructions on how to open to play music and how to close to stop the music. That's the beauty of this product, apart from being able to upload your own songs. Now for the downsides to be prepared for: 1) The quality of this product isn't very good - it's plastic and although it's quite heavy it feels and looks like a toy. To be honest, the manufacturing cost should be nominal, so it seems like an opportunistic price given the quality. 2) The preinstalled music is big band music which sounds tinny, very old and the songs seem very similar so it's not suitable for the discerning listener - she may have dementia but for now she's enjoying the memory to the operas. She attended and beautiful music. Uploading your own music was mandatory. 3) If you want to transfer your own music, it must be in MP3 format. I read everything on the website and the PDFs provided to find out how to convert MP4 (iTunes) to MP3 format and none of these options worked. Finally, I bought Wondershare UniConverter (you can also try iSkysoft Video Converter) to convert these files. It took hours so I suggest you jump right into this method and bypass all the methods provided to you with the product. In the end I asked our company's IT specialist for help, who fortunately has elderly grandparents and was a good athlete. It took him an hour to convert and transfer these files because. 5) No matter how hard we tried, we couldn't get this player to play the songs in the order we put them in iTunes or the conversion list. It was really annoying because I wanted her to hear her favorite Nat King Cole tunes interspersed with Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis and Sarah Vaughn. For now - they're all there and no matter what order - she'll eventually hear them all. Finally 6) If I'm halfway through the 100 songs I've installed and want to start again at the top of the list, the only way to do that is to close the lid, unplug the device from the back and turn it then plug it back in - it'll automatically reboot and start over in the list - or she can swipe back about 50 songs at the top of the list to get there with the press of a button. It's not something she can process cognitively. Unfortunately, this is a great solution to help someone enjoy the beauty of music and believe in that moment that they are in another time that matters to them and it's worth it. I hope this helps others to maneuver the boot process easier than mine. As a side note, you adjust the volume with a pencil (I used a passthrough key - worked like a charm) and I attached it to the bottom with instructions. So if someone needs to make adjustments, everything is fine. Good luck with this product - I'm grateful to have the reassurance that she's in her own world with good music company.
