Review on Amazon Basics 3.5-inch SATA HDD Hard Drive πŸ’Ύ Enclosure with USB 3.0 - High-Speed Data Transfer Solution by Amanda Dunn

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Simple, well made, great price

I bought five sets of 3.5 inch cases. I recently replaced my internal drives with SSDs so it's great to be able to reuse my old drives as backups etc. If/when five packs sell for less than $50 that's a crazy price There'll still be great ones Cases and good for the price but I can't go crazy. and buy five packs unless I really need all five. An external power supply is a great feature, as USB often doesn't have enough power to safely and stably run older 3.5-inch drives. The power supply supplies 12 volts (12V), 2 amps (2A). I would never recommend buying a pack that delivers less than 2 amps of current unless you are certain based on the drive's characteristics that you can draw less current. good together. Not a single bit of plastic warping or extra pieces of plastic due to bad molds etc. The parts don't feel cheap at all. My hard drives slipped and snapped into place with no fuss or risk of connections etc. snapping. You can use two pieces of Styrofoam taped to cushion the drive inside the case. This is probably important because there is little wiggle room. With foam, the disc does not slip in the case at all. The case doesn't have a fan, so the drive can get a little warm. The power cord is nice and long, which isn't saying much. other external drives and enclosures. There's a power button on the case that lets you choose when to turn it on and off instead of having to plug and unplug it. When I first unpacked the cases I got a moment of anxiety because I thought part of the power supply was missing, but upon inspection of the lid everything was there (so check the packaging carefully). The power supply comes in two parts, presumably to allow these cases to be sold in different parts of the world with different adapter pins for different sockets. Windows 10 should recognize it as a "RevainBasics case" very easily and it works like any other removable drive I've used. When I bought five packs, I noticed that the product images were reversed between the 2.5" and 3.5" five packs. I reported this to Revane so it may be fixed by the time you read this. If you are purchasing a 5 pack, look at the product description, not the pictures. The images accompanying my review are of a 3.5" externally powered case and match what you should get when you select the set of five 3.5" cases based on the product name and description .

Pros
