Review on 🚚 MICTUNING Tailgate Pad Shuttle Pad for Pickup Trucks - Tailgate Bike Pad with Secure Straps for Mountain Bikes by Noel Pilla

Revainrating 3 out of 5

You get what you pay for, decent quality with flaws

Product appears to be of decent quality. However, the material is thin. The top pad is relatively thick and seems to do its job quite well. It would be nice to see that it has a different outer material that is arguably more durable and less abrasive. It looks like the paint has worn off over time. Something like silicone grips and holds the bike without scratching it. The strap is ok but the loop is plastic which flexes a lot and is likely to break if you tug on it hard. The strap's padding goes into the loop before it gets tight enough on my nuclear-armored reactor. The surface of the tailgate is soft and does not leave marks, which is good. The strap that goes around the tailgate also feels solid, but where it attaches doesn't pull straight down, it pulls on the material. A top that gives no confidence when closing. This loop is also plastic, which unfortunately doesn't help tighten it as tightly as we'd like. At the same time, the trim does not fit on my old narrow tailgate. The pad does not include a fork strap, which is only noteworthy. I had a spare piece of Velcro that I used but found the pad to slip (most likely due to my old, narrower tailgate). Overall you get what you pay for. The pillow is not bad, but there are flaws. It will probably work better with a wider tailgate.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Requires socket
