Review on Silicone Touchscreen Smartwatch - Fossil Sport by Jose Schweigert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Current favorite Android watch

This is my fifth Android smartwatch. They used to have TicWatch Pro and LG Sport. Here are my thoughts: 1. Performance. It's definitely more responsive thanks to the new 3100 processor, but that's not a huge improvement. Apps run faster and Google Pay shows up instantly, unlike previous watches. It seems to lag behind other non-Wear OS smartwatches in terms of speed, but it's a step in the right direction. Battery life. Initial battery life looked unsatisfactory, ending the average day at or below 15%. However, I removed some of the preinstalled malware (Nike Run app, some emergency call apps, Spotify) and also made sure that the Fossil heart rate monitor is not a widget on my watch face. Between these activities, the daily average battery life was just under 50% - significantly better. This number includes the always-on display and Google Fit heart monitoring running in the background.3. comfort and style. Easily my favorite part about watches. It is very slim in appearance and also very light in weight. It's barely noticeable during the day, and the silicone strap is the most comfortable I've had. Fossil's stock watch faces aren't the best I've seen, but some of them offer decent functionality. Unfortunately, there's no speaker here, so calls or answers from Google Assistant aren't handled well on this watch. Durability. Can't talk much about it since I've had it for less than a week. I've read some reports of problems with the plastic case, the charging port on the back, or the rotating funnel. With that in mind, I'll be extra cautious just in case. Definitely spend $8 to get glass screen protectors. fitness tracking. Works like any other Google Fit enabled watch. The weight makes them more perfect than other watches. However, be aware that they will drain your battery much faster as long as you are actively tracking your exercises. The TLDR is one of the fastest Wear OS smartwatches and is exceptionally comfortable. Clean up unnecessary apps to greatly increase battery life. Buy goggles. There is no built-in speaker. Fossil bearing faces are decent.
